Tips for writing job advertisements for forex careers

Finding good employees for your forex brokerage is an important task. Good employees help you attract new FX traders and retain existing clients. Searching for and hiring forex employees can be costly, so it’s essential that your hiring process be as efficient as possible.

You’ll likely post ads online on job boards like Indeed. Keep reading for tips on writing job ads and some free templates for common roles.

General tips

Regardless of what role you need to fill, there are some things to do in all of your job ads.

  • Use subheadings — Break your ad up into several sections. This will make it easy for candidates to quickly see whether they meet your minimum requirements and whether they’re interested in the job. Include a section Break it into 4 sections: company info, qualifications or requirements, job functions, and application instructions.
  • Use bullet points — Job seekers often look through many job posts at once. Make sure yours is easy to skim by using bullet points. In some sections, you’ll need to use paragraphs. Keep those short so that the reader isn’t daunted by a big block of text.
  • Tailor language for a global audience — Use a professional tone and avoid colloquial phrases. The forex industry is a global one, and candidates from around may look at your ad. Make sure it will clearly convey your message to non-native speakers.
  • Include relevant compensation info — If you have specific information about the compensation for the role, include it in your ad. Specific information might include a salary range, amount of vacation time, unique perks, etc. If you don’t have anything specific to share, leave all mentions of compensation off. Lines like Competitive compensation and benefits make it sound like you have information that you simply aren’t willing to share with candidates.

Company info

The paragraph about your brokerage can be brief but should list enough information that a job search could do a web search for the company to learn more about it. This info demonstrates that it’s a reputable business and makes it look appealing as an employer.

Here’s an example.

Great FX Brokers LTD is a part of Global FX Trading, a leading forex and commodities brokerage. It was established in 2015 and is licensed by Vanuatu Financial Services Commission. Great FX Brokers provides direct access trade execution to institutional and retail traders for a wide variety of electronically traded products. It has offices in London, Hong Kong, and Vanuatu.
